Hi everyone :)
Welcome to this weeks’ instalment of Feel Good Friday! Today, at school, we are having our Matariki (Maori New Year) celebration which involves the whole school.
The actual event doesn’t start until 3pm and there’s going to be performances by our kids along with some local entertainers. There’s also going to be a carving demonstration, story telling, food stalls and our inaugural art auction.
We’ve all been frantically busy creating canvas’, Matariki art works and there’s glitter and stars all over the place.
In Room 4 we’ve been using pastels to create Maori art and then using my scrapping sprays to do the backgrounds and I love how they turned out… you’ll have to come back on Sunday to see them LOL
With all the art going on I was inspired to create a page dedicated to art supplies so without dragging it out here’s my page for this week:
I’m feeling quite inspired to get into my craft room this weekend and do some creating of my own! And if you live in Rotorua then I warmly invite you to visit Selwyn School today between 3pm and 6pm… it will be a great experience!
