Teacher Time

I didn't get anything done outside today because one of my fellow teachers came over so that we could get our maths planning done for the start of the year. We've had a really productive day too!

I got my gym workout done first thing this morning and it was one of those workouts where all the endorphins are smiling by the end of it... love it when that happens!! Then Wendy arrived just before 9am and I gave her the guided tour of the project. Next we got out all the books and we worked out how to plan our maths... we've decided to work together a bit this year because it's both of our first times working in a senior classroom. Wendy and I have both mostly worked with Years 3 and 4 up until now.

I was so impressed with how much we got done... plus all the photocopying and activities have been planned! It's actually quite a big job... especially when you haven't been working in that level before! Then Wendy shouted me out to lunch in town... Thanks heaps Wendy :) We went to the lovely Capers and had Mediterranian Vegetables done on Turkish bread and it was so delicious as well as being super healthy!

After we got home we made Wendy's task board together and I've printed off all my things so that I can get stuck in with the laminator and do mine tonight. I couldn't believe it when I looked at my watch and it was already 5pm! Here's a photo of Wendy's task board:
For those of you who aren't in the know here's what the letters mean: T=Teacher, P=Practice and A=Activities. Wendy's using tigers, lions and frogs for her groups and I'm using these cute guys:
Dave got back from his Dad's around lunchtime and he's making a really lovely dinner... pumpkin stuffed with vegetables... there are lots of heavenly smells coming from the kitchen!

It's back into it tomorrow... we've got to try and get all the boxing done so that we can get the concrete in!

  1. Oh, I love those kind of workouts! I had one like that the other day and it was awesome!! It's not always so good ... I think when I go earlier in the day it makes me feel a lot more energetic.

Sounds like you had a very productive day!

You're lucky that you (and Dave!) have such long holidays so you can get this patio job done! Most of us are back in the office or whatever by now!! LOL

  5. Ooooo cute clip art for the task boards - you put me to shame as I haven't done much towards getting ready for school at all. What year level are you teaching this year? I've got Year 5's and I'm lead teacher for Maths if you want to pick my brains, borrow resources, etc. - For Maths or anything else :)

  6. My computer gave up before christmas and NOW i got it to work again. So now I spend time with surfing around and enjoy all the new cards, layouts that has been made since my last time. I have a big cup of coffe and I´m looking for inspiration.
