Mum has started scrapping too :)

Well it's finally happened... after lots of 'suggesting' Mum has actually done her first layout... followed very quickly by a second (and she's got a few more in her head as well).

Mum's first layout was about Miss Krystal. She made a template for the flowers out of an old cereal box and then proceeded to cut out each flower by hand... as Krystal said "that's dedication"! Krystal loves the layout... and so does Mum :)

Mum came over on the weekend and I got to see the layout... and she totally got me with the journaling! Big softie that I am, there were tears starting by the time I got half way through it!

Then Mum went home and the next morning she emailed me this layout! Mikayla is absolutely loving it!

Mum's dog (Sophie) HATES being brushed... she never ever sits still and if she sees anyone with a brush or comb she's OFF! But she sat very still for Mikayla when she was little and got 'groomed' LOL Brings back lots of memories!

Speaking of memories... when I was little I used to write letters to Nana (my great-grandmother) and a while ago all my letters re-surfaced. There were some dating back to 1975 when I had just started school and it's like opening a time capsule and seeing the little girl that I was back then. I used the Scrapbook Dreams Reminiscing kit to do this layout of one of my letters to Nana:

Really love how it turned out... lovely and soft :)

Then I used the Scrapbook Dreams Country Grove kit to do a layout about Mikayla. (She's feeling super special with both Mum and me doing layouts about her!) The photo was taken when she was about 4... I was doing a b&w photography course and I wanted some candid shots and this photo was one of my favourites... it just captures her happiness so well.

While I was feeling all creative I made a card using some of the Country Grove papers as well. I LOVE the flowers!

Well that's it from me... hope everyone is having a good week and finding some time to be creative :)

I´m really happy that I came across your blog and I have stayed much longer then I should at your place. Thanks a million for all the inspiration.
