A bicycle built for two... well kind of!

Hello again :)  That title might actually be a little bit misleading... although I HAVE made a bicycle card... and it is for TWO challenges!

As I was looking around a few challenge blogs this morning I came across one for a sketch challenge.  I've always liked sketches and this one really appealed to me so I thought I'd give it a go.

The sketch comes from a blog called Always Playing with Paper and this is the sketch for Challenge #71:
This is a one week challenge and will end on Sunday, May 8th at Noon (PST).

I was having a bit of a look at what other people had created using the sketch when I stumbled across another challenge blog... this one has a theme challenge.

The challenge blog is called The Paper Players and this is challenge PP293.  Apparently May is National Bike Month in the USA so Nance decided to have bikes as the theme.
The challenge will close on Friday, May 6th at Noon (PST).

It was quite fortunate that on the weekend, Krystal and I were in Spotlight when we stumbled across a new stamp and die company that we hadn't heard of called Diamond Press.  The stamp and die sets were pretty reasonably priced... and they currently have 25% off!

There was one set that had a gorgeous gingham butterfly that I liked... and it also had a bicycle stamp and die that Krystal liked so I decided to get it to try... especially good timing finding the Paper Players challenge!

Here's a look at the stamp and die set:

I DO like the fact that the pictures on the front show the actual size of the stamps and dies... especially handy since you can't see inside the packet!  Here's what they look like once you open them:

So... I had my sketch... and I had a bicycle stamp and die... and this is what I came up with:

The paper is some Simple Stories patterned paper from a 6x6 pad called Summer Fresh.  I stamped, heat embossed and die cut the bicycle and then added some colour to the flower basket and the tyres using my Peerless watercolours.

I also curved the sentiment stamp a little so that it followed the curve of the die cut circle.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment and added a die cut butterfly from another piece of patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today xx

  1. I really like this card. Could be a birthday card, a promotion card, an encouragement card. The Summer Fresh line from SS is one of my most favourite pattern sets. Umm not a card for me, but yours gives me an idea for some left over scraps, a bike sticker .... well off I go to scrap life another of your great creations ...

  3. Oh I love this. Love that patterned paper. I saw the Diamond Press the other day in Spotlight but didn't realise they did stamps too; will have to have another look next time I'm there.
